Tai Hei Cha Don means Joyful tea restaurant in English. Just like every tea restaurant in Hong Kong, Tai Hei is ordinary and hiding in an alley, which is a little bit difficult to find.    However, it is ' bad frames good lenses'! 

Check out those menus on the walls, there are lovely pictures on them! I wonder who draw these cute pictures, since all the staff in Tai Hei are men.......

European Breakfast Set. 歐陸早餐. $28

First of all, there are plenty of choices for you to choose. you can choose beef, pork chop or chicken thigh as the 'main clause'. You can also choose two side dishes. I chose fried chicken thigh, ham and fried egg for my breakfast. There will also be baked beans and buttered toast. 

  OMG! Look at the toast!!!! Perfectly cracking toast with a thick layer of butter!!!!! Crack outside and very soft inside.This toast totally made my day!

Look at that chicken thigh! It is so delicious! The Golden color of the chicken skin is already irresistible. It is extremely crispy while the meat is still tender and juicy. Come along with a cup of Hong Kong style milk tea, the sweetness combine with aromatic tea and  smooth milk... What a wonderful breakfast!!

After we tried the amazing breakfast in Tai Hei, we decided to try its tea set also!

We ordered an optional noodles, which you can choose the batching.  

Instant noodles with chicken wings and fried egg .
煎蛋雞翼自選公仔麵 . $28

You may wonder why we would introduce such normal dish in Hong Kong. Tell you what, this is not ordinary instant noodles! The soup is not those MSG soup in the instant noodles pack, it is...CREAM SOUP!!!!!!

The soup is made to be thinner than normal to match with the noodles, then it will not fed you up. One stone, two birds. Yummy noodles in surprising cream soup with low price! Oh! three birds! (maybe more?) 

Chicken leg with salad. 雞脾沙律 $27YUM INDEX: 7.5/10

The chicken leg (Yes we love chicken VERY MUCH)  is a bit overcooked, thus the moist are all gone, too dry inside, but the taste is still good. For the salad in Hong Kong style is very different from those in western countries. We mainly use fruits and salad dressing to make salad instead of veggies and salad oil. It tastes fresh and little sour, merge with the sweetness of the fruits, become a funny matching. 

Iced coffee, hot chocolate (set tea) . 凍咖啡, 熱朱古力(跟餐)YUM INDEX: 8/10

Drinks are so-so. Coffee maybe too bitter for Hong Kong style. Hot chocolate is nice, fragrant. 

Overall, with the low price, the food is above average. You certainly can enjoy a wonderful breakfast or afternoon tea in this little restaurant.
